7 ways you can support your partner during her pregnancy
Ok gentlemen, listen up. You’ve just found out your partner is pregnant and you have no idea what to do. You want to show her support but you’re not sure what to expect. Whether this is her first pregnancy or not, each will be different, but there is good news! These are things that you can do regardless. Now lets get to it.
Understand that your partner will be going through a lot of emotional and physical changes and that she’ll not be her usual self. This means if you want to support her you’ll need to practice more patience with her.
Help her get some extra rest, if it means doing some of the chores for her or letting her go to bed a couple of hours earlier than she usually would, any of these will help.
Read up on some pregnancy topics so you can be more involved in the process and show her that you support her during this time.
Compliment her, she may not be feeling very confident and so she could really use some kind words, pampering and of-course extra love from you. All these things will help her feel more confident as her body goes through changes.
Attend her doctors appointments, if you cant attend all of them then show interest by asking her questions about how they went. This will make her feel supported.
Help her during her labour, what she is going through is without a doubt the most painful experience she will ever go through in her entire life, unless of course you decide you’re having another baby!
This is a perfect opportunity for you to be by her side and give her whatever she needs during labour. The more helpful and proactive you can be during her labour the more supported you will make her feel and the better experience she will have.
Last but not least, pamper her, you can buy her some flowers or a treat her to one of our maternity gift boxes. Whatever you decide, as long as you make her feel as special as she deserves to feel!
